TGIF sweet peeps! Who looks forward for the weekend? I know I do. If you guys are anything like us, our Friday nights consist of country music, good food (usually pizza), and drinks. We wanted to eat something different than pizza, so I made a Date Night Cheese Platter. Cheese platters are a must for me. Whenever I cook, I always have some bread, green olives, and Parmesan cheese in piles on the side. Yup, I nibble when I cook. One of the best flavor combinations are Parmesan and Chardonnay. I’ll take a bite of parm and a sip of wine, and there is a party in my mouth! Fireworks, flowers, the whole sha-bang! Yes please!
But tonight I wanted something filling, and a bit healthy. I grabbed everything I love and placed them on my handy dandy wooden cutting boards. Any wood board will make it look like you slaved away in the kitchen all day cutting and preparing things. It’s always a nice touch, and very elegant. I snatched the broccoli, green olives, black olives, cheese (any kind of cheese will work), cold cut meat, grapes, and cherry tomatoes. Placed it nicely on the cutting board, and you have yourself a nice romantic meal that goes well with beer and wine.
I’m not going to put a full recipe on here because the food world is your oyster. Just use the picture as a blank canvas, and create your own date night magic.
Now grab yourself a glass of wine, put on some music, and drink the night away.
Your Winey Chef,
P.S. This totally doesn’t have to only be for Friday nights. Expand your horizons! Have a wine and cheese platter any day of the week! ;))
